MEET MISS KAYLA
Kayla graduated from the Performing Arts Academy, Lakehurst Naval Base, in 2009 as a Vocal Major. After obtaining her Associates in Art from Ocean County College in 2011, she studied Vocal Pedagogy from March 2012 through April 2013. Kayla most recently attended the Somatic Voicework workshop at The City College of New York and completed her Level 1 Certification in May 2013. She continues to further her education in Vocal Training and receives regular private instruction.
The amalgamation of Kayla’s experience, vocal training, and formal education has prepared her for working with children on vocal technique and coaching. Whether your child is looking to pursue singing professionally, or simply enjoys singing as a hobby, Kayla’s primary goal is to give them a positive, nurturing environment to develop their talent. She is dedicated to giving children the opportunity to shine doing what they love while building their confidence and character in addition to their vocal ability.
Kayla has been training as a vocalist for 20 years. She has a diversified range of performance experience. Kayla has won many local and state competitions such as Rock’n Idol, WNEW, and Ocean Star. She has toured New Jersey as a lead in the original rock opera “Day After Day”, and produced solo benefit concerts promoting autism awareness. Kayla has also been recognized by the autism community for the song she wrote about her sister, “In Her Smile” when she was only fifteen. She continues to build her songwriting portfolio, which includes original music composition as well. She has had the opportunity to perform at many historic venues throughout New Jersey including The Strand Theater, The Count Basie, The Algonquin, and The Stone Pony.
